It struck me that the day also failed to address the wider role of schools within the community and within society. At the moment, I think school&#039;s are as much about social control as they are about learning. If learning can take place anytime and anywhere what is the future role of the school as an institution? Can they become places where lots of people go? I think it would be great if every child could select an individual adult learning mentor - someone they want to learn with/from...... But this would of course be far too dangerous :)</description>
