Flux is Alltop and no bottom

Flux has been added to the listings on Alltop, a directory of RSS feeds showing ‘all the top’ news stories from around the web. You might be interested to know about their education page. I wonder, does there exist any other page that pulls together in one place so many education-related RSS feeds?

I like these guys not just for what they’re doing but the quirky way they execute it. The observant will spot that the traditional page layout is inverted: footer at the top, banner towards the bottom. They’re not just being strange; they’re saying ‘the news come first, our branding comes second’.

Running across the middle of the content, the semi-opaque mid-page banner is momentarily irksome, sitting there like a buggy piece of page rendering, obscuring what you’re reading and almost certainly necessitating a scroll of the mouse wheel (my poor tired fingers…). However, pause a second and appreciate the pun in their tagline: ‘we’ve got the news covered’.
