Description

Enhance and engage students’ learning by giving the learner an alternative to text-based resources.

Give the learner more choice in what they use to aid their learning.

Generate a whole-school PERSONALISED LEARNING opportunity, and assist with ANYTIME-ANYWHERE learning.

Creation and use of high quality bespoke learning resources. Assist the school with its drive on the use of ICT by providing teachers and learners with a resource that makes best use of technology.

How it might be used

PUPILS: As a pupil this resource would be used as an alternative way to discover and learn via media-rich content. Linked and/or tagged to specific curriculum areas this would provide learners with engaging content available in or out of school to extend learning and provide opportunities for personalised learning. Within school the resource could be used as a teaching and learning aid to whole groups or individuals. A toolset of Web 2.0 technologies allows the learning experience to include collaboration via discussion forums, online notepads, voting and links to associated resources. All of which are accessible via the learner’s VLE.

TEACHERS: Can use the resource by directing pupils to specific content, evoke discussion and reflection prior, during and post class. Current resources can be used by multiple teachers at the same time rather than booking a single item of content from a resource centre. Lesson planning could include access to the resource to help make lessons more engaging. By linking specific content from the resource to online lesson activities this will assist in the development and use of the learning platform.
